Polyplus-transfection Company is a French life science company dedicated to the development and marketing of transfection reagents. Its technology focuses on linear jetPEI, which is non-toxic and highly efficient, and can be used in protein, antibody as well as gene, siRNA delivery. In vivo jetPEI is widely used in clinical trials for gene therapy.

About the speaker: Professor Yuhong Xu obtained her BS in Electrical Engineering from Peking University in 1990, and PhD in Biophysical Sciences from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1996. She had been a postgraduate researcher at the School of Pharmacy in University of California San Francisco, a post-doctoral researcher at Chrion Corporation (now part of Novartis AG), and a senior scientist at Merck Research Laboratories, before returning to China in 2000. She joined Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) and was appointed as the Assistant Dean and then the Associate Dean of its newly founded School of Pharmacy. Currently she is Head of the Molecular Pharmaceutics Lab in the School of Pharmacy and the Director of Molecular Imaging in SJTU Med-X Research Institute.

Speaker: Dr Kang Liu
Research Associate, Laboratory of Molecular Immunology, The Rockefeller University, USA About the speaker: Dr Kang Liu obtained her PhD from the Rockefeller University with Dr Ralph Steinman in 2004. She then joined the University's Laboratory of Molecular Immunology as a post-doctoral associate and became a research associate in 2007 working with Dr Michel Nussenzweig in the field of dendritic cells' interaction with T cells and natural history of dendritic cells respectively. Dr Liu has published many papers in renowned journals including the Nature Immunology.
