Dr. Zhiwei Chen was invited to be one of the planning Directors and Lecturer for the 10th HKU-Pasteur Virology Course for Research Postgraduate Students, Postgraduate Students, talk titled "Vaccine Strategies".
The course gathered 28 young and talented students from 11 countries and 18 distinguished lecturers in HIV/AIDS field from 9 countries, including Nobel Laureate Professor Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Bette Korber, Cecilia Cheng-Mayer, Robin Shattock, Mark Marsh, Sharon Lewin, etc.

AIDS Institute contributes to Frontiers in Biomedical Research, HKU2012. Our Director Dr. Zhiwei Chen gave an invited speech on Novel Strategies of AIDS Vaccine Research in the section of "Infection and Immunology". He also chaired the section of "Key sessions for Best Research Output Awardees".

Dr Zhiwei Chen, Director of HKU - AIDS Institute, was invited to present a talk, titled: "Vaccine: A Possible Solution to Protect Against HIV/NeuroAIDS" at a symposium organized by The National Institute on Drug Abuse at NIH. It is part of NIDA Neuroscience Consortium Cutting-edge seminar series. The title of the symposium is "HIV/NeuroAIDS Treatment and Prevention Beyond HAART - Thinking Outside the Box". Most of the audiences are NIH program officals and Scientific Review Officers.
